Question 1

What is a Spink and Co mattress?

Accepted Answer

A Spink and Co mattress is a natural-fiber luxury mattress made with British bed-making methods and produced in the United States. The brand traces its craft back roughly 130 years in England and now runs American factories. Each mattress layers natural comfort fibers over a micro-coil layer and a pocketed coil support core.

Question 2

What materials are used in a Spink and Co mattress?

Accepted Answer

A Spink and Co mattress uses natural fibers in its comfort layers, including wool, cotton, hemp, flax, and linen, with silk and cashmere in the top editions. The brand grows and sources many of those fibers itself, which is why it describes itself as farm-to-bedroom. Below the fibers sit thousands of precision micro coils and a zoned pocketed coil core.

Question 3

How is a Spink and Co mattress built?

Accepted Answer

A Spink and Co mattress is built in three principal layers: natural fiber comfort layers at the surface, a micro-coil layer for contouring, and a five-zone pocketed coil unit for support. The mattresses are hand-sewn, side-stitched, and tufted by hand rather than assembled entirely by machine. The perimeter uses a reinforced coil edge instead of a foam encasement.

Question 4

Does a Spink and Co mattress work with an adjustable base?

Accepted Answer

A Spink and Co mattress is designed to work with an adjustable base, and the brand's pocketed coil construction and reinforced coil edge are built to flex with one. It is still worth confirming the pairing for the specific model and base, since sizes and mounting differ. An adjustable base also needs a frame that will accommodate it.

Question 5

How is a Spink and Co mattress different from memory foam?

Accepted Answer

A Spink and Co mattress relies on natural fibers and coils rather than the polyurethane and memory foam layers used in most mattresses, so it feels more buoyant and less like sinking in. Wool and other natural fibers manage heat and moisture better than dense foam. Coil-on-coil construction also tends to hold its shape longer than foam does.

Question 6

Who is a Spink and Co mattress best for?

Accepted Answer

A Spink and Co mattress suits shoppers who want natural materials, traditional hand-built construction, and a coil feel at a luxury level. Hot sleepers often prefer it because wool and an open coil structure move heat away from the surface. Anyone set on the close-contouring feel of memory foam will likely prefer a different construction.
