Question 1

What is a Helix mattress?

Accepted Answer

A Helix mattress is a hybrid mattress from Helix Sleep that combines foam comfort layers with a pocketed coil support core. The brand builds a range of models with different feels rather than one mattress, so firmness runs from plush through firm. Helix groups those models into collections that differ mainly in height and in the quality of the comfort layers.

Question 2

Which Helix mattress is best for side sleepers?

Accepted Answer

Side sleepers usually do best on the softer Helix mattress models, such as Midnight, because extra cushioning at the shoulders and hips keeps the spine closer to neutral. Firmer models like Dawn are generally aimed at back and stomach sleepers, who need more support under the hips. If you switch positions during the night, a medium feel is often the safer choice.

Question 3

What is the difference between Helix and Helix Luxe?

Accepted Answer

Helix Luxe is a taller, more premium version of the standard Helix mattress, with thicker comfort layers, a quilted pillow top, and added lumbar support. The standard collection is around 11 to 12 inches tall, while Luxe models run closer to 13 to 14 inches. Both use the same hybrid design and the same model names, so the feel category stays consistent between them.

Question 4

Is a Helix mattress good for back support?

Accepted Answer

A Helix mattress supports the back through its pocketed coil core, and the Luxe and Elite collections add a reinforced lumbar zone under the middle third of the bed. Firmer models keep the hips from sinking, which helps hold the spine in a neutral line. What works varies by body type and sleep position, so comfort preference should still guide the choice.

Question 5

Do Helix mattresses sleep cool?

Accepted Answer

Helix mattresses generally sleep cooler than all-foam beds because the pocketed coil layer lets air move through the middle of the mattress. The Elite collection adds a cooling cover, and Helix offers a cooling cover upgrade on other collections as well. Hot sleepers often pair a breathable mattress with a moisture-wicking protector and sheets for the best result.

Question 6

How do I choose the right Helix mattress?

Accepted Answer

Start by matching a Helix mattress to your main sleep position and preferred feel, then decide how much height and cushioning you want from the collection tiers. Helix also offers an online sleep quiz that narrows the lineup based on your answers. Trying models in a Sleep Outfitters store and taking the bedMATCH sleep test can confirm the firmness range that fits you before you buy.
